Totowa's The Barnyard Wins DVlicious 'Special Occasion' In Passaic
The family-owned Totowa eatery won the reader poll with 44 percent of the vote and will receive a DVlicious certificate.
It was close for a while, but Buco Ristorante in Clifton finally fell to second place with 33 percent of the votes. Bottagra of Hawthorne came in third with 22 percent.
December tends to be the time for holiday celebrations, end of year get-togethers, splurge-worthy Saturday nights and even marriage proposals. And The Barnyard and Carriage House is the go-to place in Passaic.
The Barnyard has a pub-like atmosphere and a cozy log cabin feel, but its banquet venue, the Carriage House, is where large functions such as Sweet 16 parties and bar/bat mitzvahs are held. A white gazebo and well-maintained grounds are also perfect for wedding pictures.
The building has been around since the 1930’s. The Holland family has owned and run the restaurant since 1999.
