Blair Co., PA (WJAC) — In Blair County, Logan Township officials are touting new funding that they say will help with the construction of multiple soccer fields.
Officials say they were recently awarded $853,000 in funding for the sports park.
The park will be located on a 100-acre piece of land located on the Juniata side of Altoona and the Homers Gap side of Logan Township.
Officials say the project will benefit the entire county and could bring big economic benefits to local hotels and restaurants.
“It's really a nice place to go, a nice place to visit and it'll be a plus for all the residents and everybody involved, not to mention the kids who love playing soccer. It gives them a new field; someplace else they can go to.
Officials say the total project will cost about $1.5 million.
