(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — The ownership of Morristown, Ohio’s Jamboree In The Hills site has changed hands, but this summer’s show will go on.
The Wheeling News-Register reported that the 214-acre, eight parcel section of land was transferred at $700,000 from the Wheeling Entertainment Corp. to a Houston-based FFX Jamboree Holdings LLC. Belmont County Commissioner Mark Thomas said both entities are subsidiaries of Clear Channel Entertainment, and that the transfer in ownership was part of the spin-off of the company’s entertainment division.
FFX Jamboree Holdings LLC was created as a subsidiary that will own and manage Jamboree In The Hills, Thomas told the paper.
A line-up hasn’t been announced for this summer’s festival, which will mark the giant concert’s 30th anniversary. Tickets and camping passes are already on sale.
“They have no intentions but to keep Jamboree In The Hills going for every year, for as long as they can,” Thomas said, after speaking with the new company’s Houston office and with Clear Channel’s offices in Pittsburgh.
Government leaders in the town are more concerned about the Capitol Music Hall, and are working on a deal to purchase it from Live Nation. The new company had not booked any shows for 2006, and community leaders are worried about the fate of the town landmark.
Through conversations with Live Nation officials, Thomas said no promises have been made about the fate of the Capitol and there are no plans to close it at this time. –by CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
