Country Comes To Ireland At Midlands Music Festival

(CelebrityAccess MediaWire) — A new two-day festival featuring the top names in contemporary country music has been planned for the Irish countryside, in Ballinlough Castle, Athboy Co. Meath, just 45 minutes from Dublin.

The Midlands Music Festival will feature Kenny Rogers on Friday, July 28, and Van Morrison on Saturday, July 29th. Other artists slated to play to innovative two-day event include Dwight Yoakam, Guy Clark, Nanci Griffith, Glen Campbell, Don McLean, Albert Lee and Emmylou Harris.

The performers will be spread over one main stage and two smaller indoor tents located by the old castle. The venue will host an intimate festival crowd of 15,000.

The Midlands Music Festival is being produced by Pod Concerts, who also stage The Electric Picnic in Stradbally each summer, and Rag Lane Entertainment, who promote David Byrne, the Dixie Chicks & Jackson Browne amongst many other acts and shows.

The full line-up for the festival is as follows:

Friday: Kenny Rogers, Nanci Griffith, Loudon Wainwright III, Albert Lee, Niall Toner, Emmylou Harris, Buck Owens, Hayseed Dixie and Darden Smith.
