Opening delayed for Morgan Wallen's Nashville bar as business works through 'complexities'

The beer permit for Morgan Wallen's Nashville bar has not yet been approved ahead of what was supposed to be his grand opening Memorial Day weekend, a representative confirmed.

A representative for the beer board told FOX 17 News the permit will be approved when bar management passes their Codes and Fire inspections.

A spokesperson for "This Bar" says the beer permit approval is not the reasoning for the venue's delayed opening, but that all parties involved are "working through all of the complexities of starting this new business."

This comes after Wallen announced earlier this May that his venue "This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen" would open during the holiday weekend.

A spokesperson for "This Bar" says they want to provide an "exceptional experience" when the venue opens, adding the process to open requires more time.

The spokesperson adds the venue looks forward to opening to the public soon.

See the full statement from Wallen's bar below:

“We’re proud of our team who has worked tirelessly to prepare Morgan Wallen’s This Bar & Tennessee Kitchen for opening. The ground-up construction of a six-story venue launching with hundreds of team members is a tremendous amount of work and a complex process.“When we open, we want This Bar to be an exceptional experience for guests. Unfortunately, the process requires more time, and we are not able to open and provide that experience this Memorial Day weekend.“Rest assured it will be well worth the wait. We look forward to welcoming guests soon.”

Thank you for reaching out. I can confirm that we did not approve their beer permit ahead of Memorial Day weekend. I would not want to speculate on when the approval would happen. It all depends upon when bar management passes their Codes and Fire inspections.
